The
RedBlue
Project
RedBlue is an Internet project that gives Americans, whether “red,” “blue” or “purple,” a way to connect, explore differences, and find out what we have in common. The goal is to better understand each other and have fun doing it.

ABOUT INTERACT

Welcome to Internews Interactive, the home of 2wayTV and the Citizens Channel.

The widespread use of digital communication devices has created a nation not only clamoring for fifteen minutes of fame on national television, but capable of connecting to it. InterAct’s mission is to help Americans gain a place among the pundits and politicians who create public policy, using the most powerful medium on earth, broadcast television.

The digital convergence is reaching a tipping point, opening new opportunities to expand the citizen’s role in public policy debate. Blogs and other Internet tools have already added a more public dimension to news reporting; even entertainment TV has “real” people, giving the un-buff and less-than-beautiful face time where it counts. Personal digital devices that transmit people’s images and voices -- cellphones, webcams, and uploadable video -- all connect easily to the television studio, via digital broadband technologies. Can real people, in their role as citizens, now be included in the policy discourse that shapes our nation?

Drawing on InterAct’s 20 years of experience creating award-winning interactive television programs, we are finding new ways to integrate broadband and broadcasting. As the digital transition continues to expand, a nationwide network of, by and for the people, is now possible for the first time.
